Baconnaise Recipe: Turkey Burgers with Guaca-Bacon-Mole
Ah, turkey burgers. Not quite as good as a regular hamburger, but way healthier for you. The good news is that this is an easy way to dress up a turkey burger with our special version of a bacon guacamole recipe, add loads of bacon and guacamole flavor and take out that sorta weird not-quite-a-hamburger taste.
Turkey Burgers with Guaca-Bacon-Mole
2 lbs ground turkey
2-3 tbsp of your favorite flavor of Bacon Salt (jalapeno is our favorite)
Hamburger buns and veggie garnishes (lettuce, tomato, red onion and/or cheese depending on your preference)
For the Guaca-Bacon-Mole:
1 ripe avocado
1/8 cup of your favorite brand or fresh salsa
1.5 tablespoons Baconnaise
Fresh ground black pepper to taste
Heat the grill to high. While the grill is heating up, mix the turkey and Bacon Salt together and form 1/3 lb patties. Before cooking the turkey burgers, place a paper towel in a bowl with some olive oil and use tongs to coat the surface of your grill with some olive oil (this will ensure a great seared look).
Add the burgers to the hot grill and cook until internal temperature of turkey burgers is 165 degrees F/74 degrees C, approximately 5-6 minutes per side. If you’re using cheese, add it onto the top of the burger at the end of the cooking time. While the turkey burgers are cooking, mix together the guaca-bacon-mole by peeling, coring and mashing the avocados and mixing with the other ingredients.
Lightly toast the buns and spread the guaca-bacon-mole on them before serving with the turkey burgers and garnishments. You can also add extra Bacon Salt to taste at the end.
