Since we started the recipe contest, we've been busy in the Bacon Salt test kitchen, whipping up delicious sandwiches; making an air freshener that makes your whole house smell like bacon (why don't they make a bacon perfume?); making awesome omelets and frittatas; creating casseroles, dips, vegetables and salad dressings; and eating potatoes so good that I think I've grown two pants sizes.
Some of them are just suggestions, like Nick in Australia who suggested that we try a feta and beans recipe with Bacon Salt, burgers on the grill and says it goes very well with cumin - something we hadn't thought of pairing before and can't vouch for yet. But he also says (and I can actually vouch for this):
Finally, from the files of the bizarrely good, try it on peanut-butter toast or (stay with me here) on chocolate. Ordinary, Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. Quit groaning, get some and try it.
Tomorrow night, we're experimenting with Bacon Salt fried chicken. Yes, that's right, fried chicken that tastes like bacon. What dreams are made of!
I have been on this bacon and chocolate thing for a while. About 3 months ago..I made a batch of "bacon bark": dark chocolate with cashews and bits of bacon in it.
I fully plan on working on a chocolate recipe for the bacon salt recipe contest. :)

Bacon Salt and chocolate is a winning combination. We were skeptical at first, but chocolate and hickory really do go well together!
