We get occasional requests for samples from members of the media. It's sometimes hard to tell why they want it - do they want to write about it, or just eat it? Often it's a little of both.
One of the earlier requests for samples was from PC Gamer magazine. We weren't sure what a PC gaming magazine would want with Bacon Salt, but we were "game" and sent it along anyways. As a result, we'll be highlighted in their November issue, on newsstands in October.
Apparently, Bacon Salt has become somewhat of an obsession among many of the staffers there. Here's a tongue-in-cheek (or maybe finger-in-cheek) recipe from Logan Decker, their senior editor. All we can say is this must be a fun place to work!
PC Gamer's Bacon Popcorn recipe
PC Gamer's Bacon Salt Surprise Half cup of freshly popped popcorn
Half ounce of Peppered Bacon Salt
Combine popcorn and Bacon Salt in paper bag.
Shake vigorously for one minute.
Empty bag into very large bowl, at least twice the volume of the popcorn.
With one hand, gently skim off popcorn into paper bag. Discard.
Cradling bowl in one arm braced between arm and chest, moisten fingertip and place in leftover Bacon Salt.
Lick Bacon Salt from fingertip.
Alternative serving suggestiion: Using moistened fingertip, rub Bacon Salt on gums. Occassionally probe gums with tip of tongue. Do not do this more than twice a day.
