The one guy on the Phog.net forum who got a sample of Bacon Salt continues to taunt the others who have to wait until next week to get it. Here's his latest review for those of you wondering how good it actually tastes:
Bacon Salt -- Day 4
Ok, last night I had an amazing meal. Hickory Bacon Salt was sprinkled on my mashed potatoes, chicken fried steak, and my green beans. With each bite I drank some water laced with lemon to cleanse my pallete so that I may taste the intricacies of the Bacon Salt. I believe my Bacon Salt is vintage July, 2007. A very good vintage I might add. The Bacon Salt brought out the subtle but yet oh so interesting taste of my green beans. I asked for seconds! It is true, that Hickory Bacon Salted mashed potatoes are to die for. My taste buds were tingling! But to top all of this off, you haven't lived until you have had a chicken fried steak with white gravy topped off with Hickory Bacon Salt. This is truly what the gods meant for us to eat when bestowing this wonderful spice on all mankind. I cannot recommend this enough. I finished my meal a satisfied man.
This morning I awoke and played ball at 6am. There was the usual crowd there and everyone seemed a little more competitive today than usual. For some reason I had more spring in my step than normal. I think it was last nights Bacon Salted feast. Who needs a sports drink or a Red Bull? I have Bacon Salt. Afterwards, I came home and made myself a breakfast omlette. Yes there was Bacon Salt. How could I not? My body has come to depend on it and I am afraid of what the withdrawals would be like. Oh what a sweet, (or should I say salty?) addiction.
